Someone asked me the other day if I thought IT solution providers (what you might call a reseller, VAR or systems integrator) could build a reasonable branding message around green tech or environmental issues. While I haven’t seen a whole lot of these companies do anything publicly, two jumped to mind immediately as evangelists for this approach.
Marco Luzuriaga, president of Washington-based LimeLeap Solutions, says that his company - which change its name from Intersoft to reflects its environmental focus sense - hasn't had much interaction with the federal government on ways to initiate green practices. Instead, the company has found local governments and nonprofits of value.
Leaping Limes! Sometimes, you have to shake things up and add a twist. For D.C.-based information technology company Intersoft that meant a twist of lime. the company celebrated its green mission and new name, LimeLeap Solutions with a March 20 party at - where else? - Lima.
Primarily focused on small to medium businesses and associations, LimeLeap provides all of the luxuries of an in-house IT department without the overhead. LimeLeap services include a round-the-clock help desk, network management, staff support, information security and disaster-recovery planning.
